Here is my JDM VG30DETT from Unitex Trading in Webster, Texas (Houston). So, I'm not an expert on the year. It came from a 5spd. I'm fairly sure it is a 90-93 since the injectors are the pintle style (and grey tops?). Oddly, parts of it look really clean and decent, and then other parts look like crud. The EGR valve is almost completely rusted (not that it will matter soon...), and the pulleys have signs of rust inside the grooves, but then other parts look incredibly clean, like the VTC solenoids, water pipes, heads. I looked inside the oil cap at the intake cam. From what I can tell, it looks VERY good. I'll know more when I take the valve covers off. I'm going to perform a leak-down test first. Someone said you can just squirt a little WD-40 in the spark plug hole as a mist to make sure everything is lubricated after sitting for a while. Is that okay? Anyone know how to determine if it is a 90,91, or 93? It guess it doesn't really matter. Thanks.
